It is a matter of great pleasure to announce that GMR Aviation Academy (GMRAA) has been selected as Operating Partner for Community Skill Park (CSP) in Trivandrum, Kerala. The selection has been done through an open bidding system wherein 8 other Training Providers had submitted their bids. After a detailed evaluation of the Technical competence, the selection committee headed by Principal Secretary, Kerala; has accepted our proposal. Under this scheme, the Govt. of Kerala will provide a campus spreading over 1.5 acres of land with full Infrastructure on a concession basis for a period of 10 years. The Govt. of Kerala will infuse approx. 10 crores for setting up the facility, which is being handed over to GMRAA by October/November 2020.
The CSP, an initiative of Govt. of Kerala under the Additional Skill Acquisition Program (ASAP) having mission "Skills for better livelihood and a stronger economy" is strengthening and delivering the best practices to sustain employment for youth. ASAP is extending its service to the public through setting up CSPs in most of the districts to address the increasing unemployment and to tackle the problem of lacking skill, job readiness, etc. among youth by bridging the gap between Government, Industry, and Academia.
GMRAA collaborated with the Government of Kerala to train students through the CSP by its pre-established skills development competence. This unique model of CSP will provide a pool of high-quality skilled manpower to adhere to the changing needs of the Aviation and Affiliated industries.
GMRAA has developed standardised Courses based on the market analysis, to support the Aviation sector and the related Stakeholders with a continual talent supply of Well-trained & Job-ready candidates. GMRAA will start with the delivery of courses like Customer Service Executive, Basic Fire Fighter Course, and Certification in Retail Management at the newly allotted CSP Transit Campus.
GMRAA has already announced these courses during the state-level inauguration by Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala and attended by Dr.K.T. Jaleel, Hon'ble Minister for Higher Education. The Keynote address was delivered by Shri. Kadakampalli Surendran, Hon'ble Minister for Co-Operation and Devaswom and welcomed by Dr.Usha Titus IAS, Principal Secretary Higher Education.
